Accounting Inventory
We are seeking an Accounting Inventory professional responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records, ensuring proper inventory valuation, and supporting financial reporting for inventory transactions. This role works closely with accounting, operations, and warehouse teams to ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal controls.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Inventory Verification and Physical Audits
● Conduct, lead, and supervise physical inventory counts and continuous cycle counting across all warehouses.
● Ensure that physical inventory quantities match perpetual records in both manual logs and QuickBooks, investigating and reporting any variances.
● Enforce proper counting procedures and critical inventory cut-off controls during all physical verification events.
2. Documentation and Control Verification
● Audit inventory documentation and transactions to assess the accuracy and effectiveness of internal controls over inventory flow.
● Review and verify proper authorization and documentation for all material inventory transactions.
3. Reporting and Root Cause Analysis
● Prepare detailed, objective reports on discrepancies, material variances, or control deficiencies identified during audits.
● Analyze the root causes of major inventory variances, transactional errors, and control failures.
● Present findings and recommend preventive actions and process improvements to operations and financial management to mitigate future risks and enhance accuracy.
Qualifications:
● Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
● 2+ years of experience in accounting or inventory accounting (preferred)
● Strong knowledge of inventory accounting principles
● Experience with ERP or accounting systems (e.g., QuickBooks)
● High attention to detail and accuracy
● Ability to work collaboratively with operations and warehouse teams
Working Schedule:
Monday to Saturday 8:00AM to 5:00PM
